New Dobsonians in Greece!

After following through some of Ludes' local connections, I've found a
dealer in Salonica, who will carry the (is it new?) line of large Dobs from
Celestron.

The dealer still hasn't got them, but the quotes I got (if I recall right)

10" Dob: 725 Eu
12" Dob: 1,200 Eu

How do these prices seem to people in the States? Reasonable?

When I heard of this, I got goose-bumps :*)

PS: By the way, the .binaries ng, seems to be really busy. Some nice
pictures of the Transit over there!

Eventually, _everything_ is understandable

The prices seem a tad high, but you have to remember that telescopes are priced
higher in Europe and thereabouts than in the USA. So the prices are probably
reasonable for your area.

Not sure how the Euro is doing in relation to the dollar, however these are the
US prices for the Celestron DOBs:

8 inch: $349 + $49 shipping = $398
10 inch: $499 + $69 shipping = $568
12 inch: $849 +$149 shipping = $998

Given that stuff in Europe is generally more expensive, seems pretty
reasonable.
