Fred, show me that there's a valid reason you need to see anything I do, and I will send a private jet to collect you. As it stands, with all your BS, I don't think you're capable of convincing me that you need to see anything I do.

You do that Bobbert. Then we can find out how the telcos and feds
feel about interstate harassment.

I SERIOUSLY I doubt a single friendly phone call can be called harrasement.......

but you have likely been targeted repeatedly given your demeanor

I'm suddenly reminded of an individual who decided to harass me (and others)
through a chat system we were on.

Among other things, he tried posting old links of mine to various websites I
had mentioned years past, hoping my wife would see them and be shocked and
appalled. Of course she was more amused.. by him than anything else.

He did the same to others.

Then the phone calls started.

Then... they stopped just as quickly once someone with caller ID pointed out
to him that perhaps Harvard, his employer, would be interested in knowing
how he was using university resources.

caller ID can easily display whatever the caller wants, although I have never wanted to do such a thing

Well, no, it can't. And I wish you luck spoofing ANI, which I believe
is a crime.

=================================================

CALLER ID can easily be spoffed, as anyone who gets tele marketing calls can attest.

There was and probably is a web site where for a couple bucks you can spoof caller ID. Had a buddy call me, the system said I called myself..

I dont knnow if ANI can be spoofed, and really it doesnt matter.

Define easily, but not that hard, especially if calling from a VOIP setup.

That said, in the case I gave, the asshat was known to work at Harvard, so I
doubt he was spoofing it. :-)

So you claim, but past experience with you indicates that most of what

you claim to remember or have seen just turns out to be rather

dubious.

Hint: Caller ID spoofing is generally illegal in the United States.

It does if you're calling me. You'd be dialing into a corporate

switchboard that receives ANI info.

most business phone systems come with spoffing ability built in.

its commonly used by bill collectors to try and get the person being called to pick up the phone....
