Think I made a bit of a cock up with my post yesterday.
Kev had some doubts about the image and what he was seeing and we have had
a long discussion and I think the following is what happened.
After rushing home last night and observing the comet nucleus low in the
west with bins and my 80mm scope at around 1540 ut I spent rather longer
than I thought getting the camera gear together and had not realized that
the comet had probably been lost to view (I do not have a good western
horizon and its not helped by the airport only a few miles away in that
direction). The clouds were also building up again, and the only other
object of similar brightness in that part of the sky was Venus...

Well, at least you got to see it visually, which is more than I can boast
about.
