Default ALSEP Restart

I remember last year there was a proposal to restart the alsep lunar
experiments left by the Apollo crews on the surface. Does anyone know if the
proposal died because of technical probs or if it was tried but failed? I
think it should be given a try now that there is a directive to return to
the moon. It would be a rather low cost option for returning science data
early for a low cost.
