Hello,
I would like to know what is the name of such groups of stars http://sparon.one.pl/~arek/img/ourstars.jpg Now it can be seen over Greece. If you help me find any information about them, I'll be greatfull. Is it any constellation? How can I find it's position from other points of our glob? Regards Arek |

If you want anybody to name this, you must come up with more information
a) At what part of the sky (north, south, east, west) did you see it, and what time b) did you see it without telescope/binocle c) is size of stars compared to each other real, or is it just a picture of the constellation i can find many places in the sky where it looks like your image, but without any clue to where you saw it i will not come up with any suggestion "arek" skrev i en meddelelse ... By just using your eye, you can not tell the size of a Star, the light must
cross to far a disance to let us know. Like the winter dog star is the brightest star in any of our skys and it is bigger the our sun, a lot younger too, but is you look up in the weast now at arcturus it doesn't look big, but is another 10 times bigger that that other star, it's also far older than even our own star the sun. -- The Lone Sidewalk Astronomer of Rosamond Telescope Buyers FAQ http://home.inreach.com/starlord Sidewalk Astronomy www.sidewalkastronomy.info Astronomy Net Online Gift Shop http://www.cafepress.com/astronomy_net In Garden Online Gift Shop http://www.cafepress.com/ingarden Blast Off Online Gift Shop http://www.cafepress.com/starlords Astro Blog http://starlord.bloggerteam.com/ "Starman" wrote in message . .. Regards Arek 'Lo Arek -- This does resemble Orion's belt, sword handle, and thigh stars. If you see these stars somewhat high in your southern sky just before dawn, then look for the four bright stars that surround them. Also, look for the brightest star in the sky toward the southeast of Orion. One called "Sirius". These days, Orion rises in Greece's sky at about 2:30 AM... http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap030207.html happy days and... starry starry nights! -- Indelibly yours, Paine http://www.painellsworth.net http://www.savethechildren.org |
