To the Group:
I have a friend that has a "1086 Meade 2110 equatorial mount". While adjusting its "temporary storage location" in his garage, it tipped over (scope not mounted). The yoke appears to be a cast metal, and the "pin" portion of it is sheared. Current production by this manufacturer is significantly different. I haven't laid my hands on the part yet. Since my hands are waving furiously, I really should post a picture... URL:http://members.aol.com/dlzc/yoke.jpeg Are replacement parts available? Meade's website doesn't seem particularly helpful as far as mounts go. If I can carve a new one, or weld-repair this one with a dowel in place of the pin... Does anyone else have experience in reworking these types of mounts? What works, what doesn't, what to watch? Thanks for any help. David A. Smith PS: It really *isn't* my mount, and I really didn't break it! But a friend in need... |

![]() You might also ask ebay to automatically email you if the correct parts telescope should happen to show up. Other than that, you have to settle for the back pages of Sky & Telescope magazine, which could take months to sift through. Hopefully you won't have to go to the Arizona sky festival for a friggin rivet. |
