Golf on the Moon

Just heard a reference a little while ago on television talking about
Al Shepard hitting the golf ball; they said he only hit one. I could
swear I remember reading he hit two; he shanked the first one or
something. Insight, anyone?

He took a mulligan According to the ALSJ, the first ball took three tries
to get a good shot, and then he used a second ball and hit it successfully.
