I'm on the lookout for a refractor scope, definitely at the lower end of
the market. What sort of spec should I be looking at? I have not got great interest,so will not be sitting outside for hours, but it would be nice to show the kids Saturns rings, and maybe the easier to see deep space object (ring nebula?), goto/automated systems are not really required. Any thoughts? Thanks Alan. -- To reply by e-mail, change the ' + ' to 'plus'. http://www.dvatc.co.uk - Off-road cycling in the North Midlands. |

hi Alan,
Either a 120mm or a 102mm chinese shorttube on a EQ3/2 mount might be good buys. http://www.sherwoods-photo.com/sky_w...atcher_fs.html Don't skimp on the mount and get the 102mm AltAz though, make sure it's one of the EQ options. Gaz |

Telescope house are doing the Meade 2070 for £150 - £170 this weekend - is it worth that much? Or is it a £70 scope with £100 of Autostar? Thanks Alan. -- To reply by e-mail, change the ' + ' to 'plus'. http://www.dvatc.co.uk - Off-road cycling in the North Midlands. |
