Taxes and tax breaks. You conservative Republicans are so easily bought. You should be so concerned about your health as you are your pocketbook. Guess what: Money buys quality healthcare. If you socialists were more interested in creating wealth than in ruining it, healthcare woudl be even better. Lets do the sums, shall we ? USA: "Capitalist". Huge and ongoing budget deficits. Huge and ongoing trade deficits. Huge and growing national debt. Millions with no health care coverage. Canada: " Socialist". Healthy and ongoing budget *surpluses*. Healthy and ongoing trade *surpluses* ( In spite of some *illegal* US trade legislation... ). Large and *shrinking* national debt. *No one* with no health care coverage. I guess we raise and spend the money better than the neocons do... :-) Andre -- " I'm a man... But, I can change... If I have to... I guess. " The Man Prayer, Red Green. |

Local governments attempting to force doctors to take pay-cuts. Soldiers going to food banks. Rescue helicopters falling from the sky. Submarines that can't get out of dry-dock. Roads crumbling. Schools 'dumbing down' courses to prevent students from failing. And we *still* have to have half of our wages stolen to pay for it all... Isn't socialism wonderful? |

Six-month waiting lists for surgeries and tests. The purpose of a health care system isn't to have short lists. It is to have long and healthy lives. Canadians enjoy long life expectancies and on average live healthy lives. Oh! and the waiting lists have been decreasing sharply in the past two years. Family doctors are impossible to come by, since the ones we have are no longer taking new patients. False. Local governments attempting to force doctors to take pay-cuts. Most employers want to pay as little as they can get away with. Soldiers going to food banks. Not because they need to. Some have taken advantage of a free lunch. Rescue helicopters falling from the sky. Submarines that can't get out of dry-dock. Roads crumbling. Yes. We had some stupid policies in the 70's and the 80's. We still have to work to do to get our infrastructure in good order. The new helicopters have been ordered and the roads are improving. Schools 'dumbing down' courses to prevent students from failing. That was one of the stupid policies of the 70's and the 80's. Alain Fournier |
