I have both an 8" primary and secondary which are mounted using
silicone sealer (common practice). What's the best way to remove the mirrors from the mounts without harming the mirror? Thanks |

I just went thru that process, removing a secondary mirror. A very thin
screwdriver, prying around gently in a circle, digging depper and deeper until you get to the center. Took about 15 minutes. Just take your time, it'l work... Orion "Ron" wrote in message om... I like your solution, I'll give that a try next time.

Works well enough for me. Regards, Bill Dean --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). If you can't find piano wire, use a guitar string (not an "E" string, too thin)
and cut through it by pulling the wire through it. Hard to describe, but easy to do. Glas is "wired" out of cars in this manner, and I have had no breakage in at least twenty years doing this. Silicone is MUCH easier to cut than Urethane. Roland C in So Fla |

To reply, remove the "z" if one appears in my address "Steve Taylor" wrote in message .. . Dental floss works too. Steve OT here, but dental floss slices quickly and easily through double-faced tape, too... |
