Why are we still pouring $$$ into the ISS? What good is that tin can? Are
they getting money for setting records for time in space? What a pure waste
of money that hunk of junk is. Go to the moon, build a base. Get there
before the Chinese set up shop.

I certainly agree that we seem to be getting a lot more for our money from HST
than from ISS. A base on the Moon would be great for astronomy as well as
geology, but live flight to Mars will require some pretty good jumps in
technology. If it does happen, I hope that it is as profitable a venture as
the Apollo program was. It spun off industries that gave a lot of us jobs and
better lives.
