![]() Bigelow Aerospace Begins Hiring Round by Adding Former Astronauts Ham, Zamka, By Dan Leone, Jul. 9, 2014, SpaceNews http://tinyurl.com/q7t7rtl From above: Each Bigelow Aerospace space station would require about a dozen astronauts, including orbital, ground and backup personnel. and: Bigelow Aerospace has yet to book a launch for the BA330 modules it is building. The company?s business case hinges on the availability of domestic, commercially available launch and crew vehicles. Bigelow plans to buy these on margin from the winner of NASA?s commercial crew program, under which the agency is nurturing development of vehicles to ferry crews to and from the space station. Jeff -- "the perennial claim that hypersonic airbreathing propulsion would magically make space launch cheaper is nonsense -- LOX is much cheaper than advanced airbreathing engines, and so are the tanks to put it in and the extra thrust to carry it." - Henry Spencer |

Argh! IMO Bigelow is make a mistake putting NASA in the driver's seat.
They should be negotiating NOW with a provider, not hoping they can pick up crumbs left on the NASA table. As things stand right now that kind of strategy could easily blow up in Bigelow's face! I'd sure like to see them book launches on SLS "on margin"! *sheesh* Dave |

You are the weakest link, goodbye! Plonk! Jeff -- "the perennial claim that hypersonic airbreathing propulsion would magically make space launch cheaper is nonsense -- LOX is much cheaper than advanced airbreathing engines, and so are the tanks to put it in and the extra thrust to carry it." - Henry Spencer Are you suggesting there are numerous Muslims running any parts of our NASA or DARPA? Are you suggesting that BA employs other than all-whites? Are you perhaps suggesting that BA doesn't actually employ any devout Semites? Are you suggesting that all mainstream faith-based folks are always perfectly trustworthy? Are you suggesting that all Atheists are getting treated with the same respect and given the exact same benefits and opportunities? Are you suggesting that our upper caste mafias, cabals and cartels simply do not exist? Are you from some other planet where telling of lies or obfuscation of any degree is punished by death? (because that's sure as hell not how it works here) |
