There is no warning. There is no potential harm. Just spectacular northern lights. You should be saying SPECTACULAR NORTHERN LIGHTS EXPECTED |

Mat,
Sam has been doing a great service to the SAA community for a long time. His "warnings" are VERY much appreciated by many people, myself included. Of all the postings to SAA - I look forward to seeing Sam's. Until today I have yet to really try to take advantage of his postings - tonight I am really hoping to do that. The 3rd definition of Warning in Merriam Websters is: c : to call to one's attention : INFORM I would say that Sam's "warnings" has been meeting this definition by far and I truly hope he is willing to continue to provide this service. I suppose if you really do not want to read them you can filter them out. I can't understand why you would want to as it is very applicable to this news group. Enjoy! -- Glenn "mat" wrote in message ... There are just too many of these "warnings" thats all. Go to spaceweather.com if you want the total story. Or the SOHO site. |

We should start a new rule that you can only post about any particular topic about once per week. This will of course eliminate all the observing reports after the first lucky person got theirs in. Of course - back in August - only 1 person would have been able to post a photo of Mars - but hey if you've seen 1 your seen them all. Sorry for the sarcasm but quite frankly Sam is posting the activity as it happens. If he was posting about the "same" solar activity day after day I could certainly understand your position. However - each of his postings are of new activity - ALL of which I am interested in hearing about. As I said before - if it bothers you - filter on it so you do not have to read it. Glenn |

Sam's "warnings" are invaluable. I have seen several auroras that I would
have otherwise missed-I usually only have time to go to one site on the web, and I choose SAA so without his alerts I wouldn't even know about ANY aurora. Most of us know his "warnings" are alerts to the possibility of aurora. Lets not get hung up on semantics here. And to Sam- Thanks for all your much appreciated effort! "mat" wrote in message ...
