Default Highest Latitude for Completed Messier Marathon

Looking over this page
http://www.seds.org/messier/xtra/marathon/hall.html it looks like the
most northern latitude was Virgina. Anyone complete it at 41 degrees?

Many people have done the entire Messier list in Washington State.

Is the marathon especially difficult for northerners because of the
position of some of the southerly Messiers in March?

The real bugaboo is M30. If you have aspirations to get all 110, then you need
to be far enough south that M30 rises before morning twilight grows too bright.
I used to live in Madison, Wisconsin at 43 degrees North latitude. Aside from
the persistent lousy weather in March/April, M30 rises too late in the morning
for a complete marathon to be run from that latitude.

By contrast, the All-Arizona Messier Marathon site is located at ~32.5 degrees
North. On March 21, 2004 M30 will rise at 5:23 AM MST. That's actually rises 11
minutes later M30's rise time from southern Wisconsin that same morning. But
night lasts longer in southern Arizona in March. So, while M30 rises 49 minutes
after the onset of twilight in Wisconsin, it rises just 5 minutes after
twilight breaks at AAMM. And you'll hear whoops! and yeas! as observers collect
their 110th object of the night.

Not. The MM is successfully run in New York State, Massachusetts,
and Penssylvania, as I know near me.
