Hi All,
I was thinking of buying a new diagonal to replace the stock Meade that came with my LX90. WO has 2 of them I am thinking of. The first is the 2" 90 degree Star Mirror for $99. The second is the "New Generation" 2" 90 degree for Schmidt-Cassegrains or Maks for $130. I am wondering what the difference is between these 2. Which one would work best with the LX90? Thanks. - Dave |

First of all, I don't know what the difference between the two is exactly.
When I was shopping for a 2" diag for my LX90, I thought WO had a SCT type & a regular 2" type. I have the $130 model. I switched since the stock 1-1/4" diag stunk. The generic 2" SCT diag I picked up originally didn't clear the base of the LX90. The WO 2"SCT diag is nice & worth the money. That's it in a nutshell. Ralph 41 16N 75 50W |

THe plain 2 in version will need an ST rear adapter that takes 2 in accessories; but the diagonal will be usable on other 2 in accessorie scopes as well. |

Kendrick might also carry the Schmidt-Cassegrain version. Alan |

Hi,
The WO Diagonal for SCT is not a true 2-inch diagonal (nothing that threads onto the SCT adapter is). There are arguments on both sides of this issue but for a true 2-inch aperture the way to go is with the "$99 star mirror" with an Astro-Physics 2-inch adpater. Cost is the same as with the SCT diagonal and you get a true 2-inch aperture. Take Care, JAS "DaveMan" wrote in message ...
