Marcel I wouldn't bother, because GPS doesn't help the telescope find the stars. If you can get your latitude and longitude to within 2 or 3 degrees, and the date and time to within 10 minutes, then all you have to do is find the 2 initial stars and center them. Pointing accuracy depends on how well you center the first 2 stars, and as I understand it, the only reason for GPS is to help the telescope guess where they are going to be. Apparently, the main appeal of GPS, for the manufacturers, is that it keeps users from making *big* mistakes about location or time (such as entering their longitude as west when it should be east). -- Clear skies, Michael Covington -- www.covingtoninnovations.com Author, Astrophotography for the Amateur and (new) How to Use a Computerized Telescope |
