From SpaceflightNow on twitter: Falcon 9 test time of 1:30pm came and went. But test hasn't happened. Awaiting new ignition time. Still waiting... Maybe one of the engines didn't ignite properly? Pat |

The engines shut down just as they were igniting; no further test today. And here's the report, with photos. First close-up pictures of the base of the Falcon 9 on the pad with hold-down arms/umbilicals that I've seen. (The metal framework that enclosed the engines isn't in evidence; I thought it was part of an interface that plugged into the pad.) I like the fairing that wraps around the base and engines; has a resemblence to the Saturn V minus the fins. http://www.spaceflightnow/falcon9/001/100309hotfire/ --Damon |

: The Falcon 9 static fire is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST today http://www.spaceflightnow.com/falcon9/001/status.html Looks like there was a test firing today (Saturday, 3/13/10) at around 12:30. Very few details and no close video coverage, so we'll have to wait for details/pictures/video from SpaceX. Hopefully things went well enough that only paperwork stands in the way of a launch as early as next month. --Damon |
