The Australian pronunciation would be with a broader A sound and the R would be silent or nearly so. It would be somewhere between Parks and Pox. If you can get a copy of the movie "The Dish" you can hear how Aussie actors say it a least. |

In a rather comical voice the tub of Parkay says "butter". They go back and forth until she tries a taste of it and she says "it does taste like butter" so the tub of Parkay says "Parkay!". Yes Raqueeb, on American television _everything_ can speak, whether it's alive or not...even margarine. We are dangerously unhinged over here, and not to be trifled with. Let Bangladesh remember that at all times, especially if anyone comes over there to look for Weapons of Mass Destruction...the fact that you don't have any wont be any guarantee of safety...it might be better to have just one, and give it to the inspector along with whatever scientist made it, so as to placate the suspicions that you are hiding some. It would also be wise to make sure there are no oil deposits in the country. And avoid smart-ass margarines at all costs. Pat |
