What do you guys use for stacking images and photo enhancement? Does it make
any difference whether it is a planet/moon or a deep sky object? Dave |

I use Maxim to stack long exposure images, and usually K3CCD to stack video images. Sometimes I use Registax for video images. I normally limit my processing in these programs in favor of Photoshop after the stacking is complete. Pretty much any stacking program will handle either video files (lunar/planetary) or small sets of individual frames (DSO). I prefer Maxim for the latter because of its ability to stack based on an astrometric solution, something none of the dedicated stackers can do. _________________________________________________ Chris L Peterson Cloudbait Observatory http://www.cloudbait.com |

Depends what you want to do That one (it is free and I have no connection with its author) is one of the better ones for very large stuff (many heavy high-end dslr frames). http://deepskystacker.free.fr/english/index.html For planetary AVIs, you have registax, k3CCD etc... -- Pierre Vandevenne - DataRescue sa/nv - www.datarescue.com The IDA Pro Disassembler & Debugger - world leader in hostile code analysis PhotoRescue - advanced data recovery for digital photographic media latest review: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1590497,00.asp |
