Default Uses for old slide projectors?

Slide projectors are being tossed right and left. Soon they'll be as
scarce as typewriters and buggy whips. Has anyone come up with
interesting uses for their optics or other components?

I know that there are planetariums all over the country with large
libraries of slide-based shows. These guys are paying a small fortune to
machinists to custom build spare parts for their projectors. They'll pay
good money for working projectors.

Something to remember before tossing one.

I still use slide film but I hand view the slides and then copy them with my
scanner.

I've got a 13 ft Whaler, I tied two of em together and used it for an
