Someone tell me what the freakin deal is. 4 years ago, the cutting
edge of technology was at an acceptable grueling pace. Now it has slowed down to a pitiful, stomach-wrenching crawl and it makes me sick. Then, for example, we invented the Pentium chip and the DVD player, now everyone thinks were makin the same leaps by making existing Pentium chips a few Megahertz faster and a DVD player that hold slightly more gigabytes. What the hell is the matter with scientists today. The fact that we haven't colonized the moon yet and had several manned missions to mars makes me want to puke. What the heck is takin these chumps so long? I'm so mad. -Slick |

There are almost certainly medications which can help you with your mood
swings. They probably won't improve your social skills, but you can do that yourself with some determination and a bit of luck. ************************************************** ***************** ************************************************** ***************** ATTENTION USENET VISITORS, THIS AREA HAS BEEN DECLARED A TROLL WILDLIFE REFUGE. TO LEARN ABOUT THE TROLL, ITS HABITAT, AND ITS WAY OF LIFE, PLEASE READ THE SIGN-POST BELOW. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE TROLL, YOU CAN PICK UP BOOKS AND SOUVENIRS IN THE GIFT SHOP AT THE END OF THE TOUR. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR OBSERVING ALL TROLL WILDLIFE REFUGE RULES, HAVE A NICE DAY. ************************************************** ***************** ************************************************** ***************** ----------------------------------------- | Common name: Woodland Troll | | Scientific name: Trollus Useneticus | ----------------------------------------- ################################################## ########## # # # PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: # # # # The common woodland troll (Trollus Useneticus) is an # # approximately 1.7m long nocturnal furry creature that # # has been found to exist in nearly every climate and # # latitude. Predominant features include: a very pale # # complexion, a large bony ridge above the eyes, a dense # # cranium, dragging knuckles, and a pungent odor. # # # ################################################## ########## ################################################## ########## # # # HABITAT: # # # # Most trolls spend the daylight hours under a large rock # # sleeping. Unfortunately, the natural habitat of the # # troll has been encroached by development (as is all too # # often the case). The modern troll has to make due with # # a slimy, moss covered rock. Often, trolls are forced # # to endure poor sanitation and filthy living conditions. # # Combined with the general lack of hygiene among trolls, # # this results in a very unpleasant odor. # # # ################################################## ########## ################################################## ########## # # # ACTIVITIES AND DIET: # # # # During their active period at night, the common troll # # engages in numerous activities, though the most # # important of these is foraging for food. The one # # characteristic that ties all different troll species # # and sub-species together is their diet. Trolls # # invariably survive off of a combination of cheetohs, # # arguments, and annoying others. A typical troll # # requires approximately 10 arguments and flames per day # # just to stay alive. With the increasing use of # # killfiles and just regular ignoring of trolls, it has # # become more and more difficult for trolls to eke out a # # basic sustenance. # # # ################################################## ########## ################################################## ########## # # # KNOWN PREDATORS: # # # # Unfortunately, trolls have many predators. Most common # # among them are the helpful researcher, the informative # # poster, the cool headed responder, and the kill-filer. # # The cool header responder is technically not a troll # # predator however. Trolls are typically unfazed by # # logical counter arguments and cool headed reason. # # However, even though their posts do not deliver the # # same level of sustenance that a "flamer" or an "annoyed # # poster" may provide, they still provide a valuable # # source of dietary fiber for the troll. # # # # The most dangerous predators for the trolls are the # # helpful researcher, the informative poster, and the # # kill-filer. The common troll is highly allergic to # # fact, real data, and research. Upon skin contact with # # actual hard evidence and real data, the troll will # # experience intense itching and burning at the site of # # contact, followed by lesions and blisters. Eventually, # # this results in loss of skin near the area of contact, # # and usually to loss of a limb (in the example of # # contact near the arm or leg). Contact with facts and # # data near the facial area usually results in a slow # # painful death. Contact with extremely high doses of # # fact and hard data can cause temporary loss of # # consciousness and even permanent brain damage for the # # troll. # # # # The kill-filer poses a much more insidious threat to # # the troll. Not posing a direct threat to the troll per # # se, the kill-filer simply deprives the troll of yet # # another source of nourishment. Some trolls have # # developed counter measures to thwart the kill-filers, # # usually this takes the form of a type of camoflage. # # # # The trolls' predators have reaped a terrible slaughter # # over the years, resulting in the death of great hordes # # of trolls. Trolls continue to breed rapidly though and # # their population is stable. However, it is unknown how # # long this situation can persist. Eventually, natural # # predators and poachers may result in lower numbers of # # trolls. Already we are seeing lower diversity among # # the different troll species. That is why this troll # # habitat refuge exists, to ensure the preservation of # # the troll for not only our future, but the future of # # our children. # # # ################################################## ########## ================================================== ======== / This troll habitat refuge has been paid for in part by / / the anti Troll-Defamation League, the International / / Society for the Advancement of Trolls, and the Troll / / Habitat Preservation Alliance. / ================================================== ======== |

In addition the government is cracking down on copywight laws and corporate research is vital company information, not to be publically published. Besides the most important parmount purposefor us is to make the super rich so much richer that everybody else will have to declare bankrupcy, to fight wars of conquest, to convert the world to ChristoDemocracy (ie Republican capitalism), and spend billions on media public image management coverups to molify the public into serfdom. |

What the heck is takin these chumps so long? I'm so mad. -Slick Would you idiots cut out your marital nagging? If you want to do that crap, do it under some other post, and addres the issue at hand. retards, I don't care about the pentuim chip it was merely an EXAMPLE. Why isn't new stuff like that being invented now, We *know* there's a market for better computers. If you've read other threads, you'd see the market that requires better spacecraft isn't blatantly obvious. Investors want to see a business plan, before they sink their money. Now, I *do* personally make that 'If you build it, they will come.' leap of faith, but I know full well that people who control the purse strings want a little more. and the moon isn't exciting, its imperialism. The Monroe Doctrine doesn't govern space as far as I know, so the US better get up there and colonized the moon, it's more landmass, an eventual necessity. Specify the necessity. I'm sure they exist, but they require signifigant up-front costs to develop economical transportation to Earth orbit, then on to the Lunar surface. You gotta justify that, or at least settle for doing it very incrementally. Now Jay, i know all these tought about space colonization are overloading your small brain, that again is an EXAMPLE, i'm mad about the pace of technology, not the listed instances. Sometimes I just put a little too much in a post for you miscreants, Flattery will get you nowhere. Again, I suggest reading other threads for a while. i'll try to dumb in down to 2 or 3 lines next time. I want a freaking flying car too, there is no reason its not possible. But is it practical? Quit whining about money or get punched in the face. Nobody rides for free, Slick.... Get it done. Thats the problem with this world. GET IT DONE and quit bitching. Thats why we need to elect Arnold governor, the guy is rich as christ, people like him GET THINGS DONE, they don't whine about funding. When you hold government office, you have to learn to work the system, and get people with differing agendas going in essentially your direction. This was Ross Perot's problem. In his business background, he could more easily order things done, and they were. Government doesn't work that way. Former military officers learn this lesson, too.... Pull your heads out of your asses and get something accomplished. If I could pull a couple billion out too, I suspect *I* could get a lot done. Is it there? Nope. I'm dead serious. No one sinks the necessary money into space projects (and we also have to get investors and others over the idea that it *must* cost what NASA would estimate for the same goal) without some conviction they'll make it back, and more. I already have the conviction, but not the money. You guys need to read a small book titled A Message to Garcia, there maybe you'll learn something about nagging and asking HOW something is supposed to be done. It's only about 30 pages, so you should be able to handle it. Now, does anyone have a semi-intelligent to the putrid tech rate? -Slick You need to lurk some more. Many of your questions are addressed (with more civility) here, all the time. 'We guys' want off this rock as much as you, but tantrums won't do it. |
