Default How Long Have I Been Warning about the Dangers of Air Shows?

A jet fighter jet performing at the Oregon Air Show crashed into a
residential community just a few miles from me only hours ago! One
home was destroyed, and four others damaged. Luckily only the pilot
was killed.

Now some local residents are having second thoughts about the event.
How long have I been warning about the dangers of air shows? But would
they listen to me?

With air shows like that over your neighborhood, who needs Hezbollah?

What a pity it missed you. Do you suppose anyone would have known or cared
if it hadn't?

Not for anything, D-A, but there was only the one fatality,
the pilot, and this is the ONLY fatality in the entire history
of this airshow dating back to 1988.

Moreover, the crash did not happen as a part of the actual
airshow. It took place after the jet's takeoff to return to
California.

All this means is that you are far more likely to witness a
fatal car accident on your way to work than an airplane
crash in an airshow. Shall we all sell our cars and stay
home? hide under a bed? g

In these instances, a little *perspective* is nice. I happen
to be a pilot... and i feel a whole lot safer in an aircraft than
i do in a car.

happy days and...
starry starry nights!
