(in article ): Can anyone explain exactly what the discussion about LOX inlet temp is about? D. The LOX inlet feed temps are predicted to be too high by about half a degree late in the count; if that occurs (and it apparently might not), there will be an automatic hold at T-31 seconds. The engineers believe that normal drain-back at such a hold will drop the inlet feed temps to the specified range within about a minute. The launch team is prepared for such a hold and the procedures necessary to restart the count quickly once the temp issue is resolved have been discussed and agreed upon. -- Herb "Everything is controlled by a small evil group to which, unfortunately, no one we know belongs." ~Anonymous |
