Default New Scientist SPACE - Breaking News - Extrasolar-planet hunters find triple-Neptune system

"A trio of Neptune-sized worlds has been spotted circling a star 41 light years away,
in the southern constellation Puppis. One of the planets is by far the smallest ever
found in the “habitable zone” of a Sun-like star, where liquid water could exist."

Fascinating :-)

There's an ESO site at
http://www.eso.org/outreach/press-rel/pr-2006/phot-18-06.html with
what seems to be a contradiction. At one point it says "an asteroid
belt, whose location is unknown" but then shows a picture
http://www.eso.org/outreach/press-rel/pr-2006/images/phot-18e-06-normal.jpg
with the asteroids at 0.42 AU. That figure is confirmed by other
sources.

If you look at those figures, they form a nice series in the same way as
the planets in "our" solar system!

Position HD 69830 Sol
1. 0.07 0.39
2. 0.18 0.72
3. 0.42 1.00
4. 0.63 1.52

R-squared 0.98 for both according to Graphpad! www.graphpad.com
