Default Autostar glitch?

We have an 8" Meade LX90 with an Autostar computer (second hand, if that
makes a difference). The few times we have used the Autostar we have had a
glitch happen. When we ask it to show us 'Tonight's Best' tour it will
sometimes not slew to an object. In tonight's case, it was the moon. We
had asked it to show us a few planets first, which it did just fine, before
going to the moon. When asked to go to the moon, the computer said
'slewing' but the scope didn't move and it stayed aligned on Mars. Last
time we had this problem, it wouldn't go to Saturn nor Castor. My husband
has reinstalled the software on it inbetween the last time and tonight but
the glitch still happened. Has anyone else had this glitch and is there
something that can be done to remedy it? Also, when switched to 'Mode'
mode, it wouldn't bring up satellites either, just sat there while it said
'slewing'. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi LeAnne.

Can I suggest that you join the lx90 yahoo group. There are lots of people
on that forum which will be able to help.

If you are using "C" Cell batteries that they are at full charge. Better
yet - throw them away and get an external power solution with at least 7Ah
capacity.

Do you have a link Colin?

And yes, batteries were new. I have been emailed suggesting trying to hit
'Enter' before 'Goto' which has worked for another user, so I will try that
the next time we are out with it.

Thanks!

Have you tried a reset of the Autostar? I thought it put everything back to
the factory defaults? Just a suggestion to try.
