Default New images!

Hi group! After much time I started to image again!
I uploaded several new images on my web site:
Venus with the baader U filter, shows clearly the atmospherical features:
http://www.danielegasparri.com/amate.../eng/venus.htm .
The sun shows many finest features thanks to a good filter combination:
astrosolar, baader U, baader IR-cut, and Schott BG48; the result is a narrow
band, composed by small peaks which fall on the UV region, included the
ionized calcium lines. The image was taken with a little konus vista 80mm
achromatic refractor:
A small movie of jupiter and moons rotation, (5 hours):
http://www.danielegasparri.com/amate...ng/jupiter.htm .
Some deep-skies objects, included the Hoag galaxy and the giant elliptical
M87 with its gas jet:
http://www.danielegasparri.com/amate...g/deep_sky.htm .
Last but not least, Mercury few months ago in full daylight:
http://www.danielegasparri.com/amate...ng/mercury.htm
Comments, suggestions, criticisms?
Clear skies!

Very impressive, Daniele. It really gives a nice 3d perspective to see
the moons orbit the spinning planet. There appear to be some transient
bright artifacts(?) moving top to bottom in the center, just below and
left of Jupiter. Do you know what they might be?

I think it must have taken a good deal of patience and good seeing to
capture that sequence.

Hi Bob and thank you!
Yes, in some frames there are transient bright artifacts; the cause is
the low ratio S/N of those frames, due to some clouds crossing the sky.
That night was not perfect, at all; many clouds in the sky ruined many
frames.
The movie is improvable a lot; I just need better seeing and clear sky.

I think it must have taken a good deal of patience and good seeing to
capture that sequence.

Once you learned some little "triks" the sequence doens't need much
time. The frames acquisition was completely automatic; I just checked
the allignment every 15-20 minutes; the "dirty" work was made all by my
CCD camera and the software. The processing and video composition was
completely automatic. I needed only 15 mimute to process, allign and
built the video (thank you very much Maxim Dl!). This is the power of
computers!
