Default Rosamond (Friday) Report

Friday in Rosamond started out as the
best weather day of 2006. I was set up
by 6pm and after checking on the moon for
a sec, I moved to Saturn.

Three go fast sport cars pulled into
foster freeze and a bunch of older teens
got out, they never did go in, one or two
did, the rest just hung around and talked.
At last 2 of them came over and looked at
saturn, they went back and over the next
15 mins the rest came over. No poor guys
by any way, one had enough gold on to sink
a ship.

It was awhile before the next people showed
up, a pu pulled up and the mother went in but
the kid came over, he asked what was to be seen
and I told him, the moon, mars and saturn, he opted
for saturn and was glued to the ep looking
at the planet, I told him to hold on a sec, I
reached into my jacket pocket and pulled out
a ep case and opened it up and took out my
4.8 neggler and put it in and got saturn
with it and had him look. About that time mama
came out and called him, so I also gave him a
Sky & Telescope mag to take and read, I had
also given him my TSBFAQ card as he said he dad
was thinking of buying another telescope for him
to replace the old tasco he had.

The next ones was a young guy and his two kids,
they wanted to see the moon, so they got it and
then Saturn too. Then a guy with a dog stopped and
had a look at saturn, found out he lives down
20th street and I'd walked past his place a lot.

The last ones to come over was two older ladys and
an older man, they enjoyed seeing saturn and then
the moon. By 9pm things had died off a lot, so
before packing up I did some viewing of my own.
the night was good enough that I could use the high
power and not have a bad image, but the temp was
starting to drop, so after a bit more of saturn I
packed up and came home, after using the one $5 bill
someone left in the jug to put some gas in the old
car.

Hope tonight is as good for viewing as last night.
