Default What on earth is NASA doing?

I am offering a prize of $1,000,000.00, payable the day I win the lottery,
to anyone who can tell me one usefull discovery that has been made as the
direct result of a NASA space flight, that is beneficial to the average
person here on earth. Please, no communications sattelite answers because
that is not a discovery based solely on space travel.
