The bigger a single combustion chamber engine gets the more prone to
these sorts problems it seems to be.

Thanks for the link, good read. The combustion instability problems seems
to me about the most dark, esoteric, complicated but crucial things in
modern rocketry. Pat, as you said the Germans warned the Russians on the
size/combustion instability problem - but had not tested any large A10
engine - was this knowledge from the A4? Was this already a problem during
A4 development?
