Dear SeniorBat, The Nightbat™, reality is what you accept for being "real" :-) I would not mind having the whole PIZZA thingy brought to me via all those flavor frequencies of the cosmic back-ground. Especially not while knowing that it's "nothing but" such frequencies that reach my brain .. :-) Keep the good fight up! Wonder how the SEANS celebrate their X-mas :- Charles nightbat Boy do I miss New York pizza and excellent question Senior Silver Officer Bohne let me ask my Sil how or if they celebrate any holidays out in space. They do know about ours since they confirm observing us for quite some time but do Seans do it too have any special holidays in space? carry on, the nightbat |

Probably late for this:
The real issue - http://www.drchinese.com/David/EPR_Bell_Aspect.htm This was the fundamental issue between Einstein and Bohr. The EPR position is considered to have been soundly proven wrong - although the implications are not palatable, not because "God does not play dice" and not because "poor, dumb Einstein didn't get that the universe was so strange" - but because it encourages the arrogance that we are all little demiGods. There are significant arguments against this philosophy, but debate is rare because of arrogance, as far as I'm concerned. The conclusions stated at the twm web site are good examples of that arrogance. Connections are made without foundation and erroneously. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Quantum consciousness, aka the latest I think therefore I am: http://www.levity.com/alchemy/quantum.html A good article, even if parts are mucky. In fact, a far better expose of the conscious universe. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bell's Theorem: http://drchinese.com/David/Bell_Theo...babilities.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Some interesting notes on the players: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alain_Aspect http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Bohm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Recommended books - The Tao of Physics and the Dancing Wu Li Masters (althought the latter is slow reading at times). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chicago pizza is excellent. (I've never had one outside of Chicago, despite countless claims to the contrary.) Chicago Silician pizza is even better. Genuine pizza is usually made with leftovers. I don't like genuine pizza all that much - the Americanizations are better (spoken like an American). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That the universe can't exist without us is a form of tyranny. Aristotlean thought is another form of tyranny. According to the unspoken tenet of the "we are all Gods" view - the universe never existed and does not exist because we were never there to cause the multiplicity of quantum interactions before our existence. This is obviously untrue, but leads to the arguments that we *did* exist, we are the aliens, they seeded us, Intelligent Design is true, and all sorts of other goose stuffing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Life's just a game, you fly your paper plane, there is no end. Determinism fails if the speed of light is respected. ... ' Or is it ... ' Determinism ' is set/limited/fixed to the speed of light ? Geez, RL - what an electrifyingly excellent question! Given that c is best thought of as a conversion factor, it smacks of determinism, doesn't it? It leads to determinism fails if determinism is respected. I can only respond that perhaps Bohr's greatest moment of genius was in discovering and defining the principle of complimentarity - a great truth is a truth whose opposite is also a great truth. And as I always like to point out when on this subject, when asked what the complimentarity of truth itself was, Bohr replied, beauty. Pearl "Accidents since 1992." |
