My magazine Aerospace Projects Review has officially closed up shop, as
far as new issues are concerned. However, I have a number of other, similer projects in works (US Bomber Projects, a completely re-worked Reusable Saturns, Spaceplanes, Dyna Soar, etc.). I also have a number of bills relating to these other projects... frex, I'm taking a trip in a few weeks cross-country to visit an archive. Lots of $$ involved with such endeavors. And printing and mailing costs make magazines and such virtually profit-free. So... If I made available as PDFs some re-worked APR articles, along with some new articles, of anywhere from 2 - 10 pages in length, would charging a few bucks for them to be e-mailed sounds reasonably fair? And, more importantly, would anybody be interested? I'm thinking of starting this off with a few snippets from forthcoming books: 1: Bomber Orion: 2-pages text, probably 2 pages drawings of a 12-meter diameter Orion vehicle that General Atomics proposed for launch into cis-lunar space to serve as a retaliatory strategic system Say... $2. 2: Reusable Atlas: probably close to 8 pages total, text and dwgs, of a manned, winged Atlas variant for launching manned and unmanned payloads. Say, $3-$4. 3: V-2 Drawings: a number of *extremely* large format drawings of various V-2 bits. Same drawings seen here, plus a few mo http://www.up-ship.com/apr/extras/V-2/v2.htm Say, $2-$3 4: Saturn drawings: I have a number of Saturn I/Saturn V layout drawings that may be of interest. Inboard profiles and the like. Same price as V-2 drawings. 5: Douglas MARS: giant spaceplane that required hypersonic in-flight refueling, and was a dead ringer for the Ark from "When Worlds Collide". Same size/price as theReusable Atlas. That sort of thing. Let me know... (Also let me know if you want to be on the mailing list I'm putting together) -- "The only thing that galls me about someone burning the American flag is how unoriginal it is. I mean if you're going to pull the Freedom-of-speech card, don't be a hack, come up with something interesting. Fashion Old Glory into a wisecracking puppet and blister the system with a scathing ventriloquism act, or better yet, drape the flag over your head and desecrate it with a large caliber bullet hole."
