![]() I was thinking about the various talks that I have attended over the years. And then I got to thinking about the talks I would like to hear and started putting together a list with some friends. Now I thought I'd toss it out here to see what ideas you all have. So, if you were attended a space-related function, who would you like to hear and why? Let's keep the list constrained to those still alive (I think my list below is consistent with this), but no speaker to small or too big! Here's some ideas I'll toss out that we've been kicking around (in no particular order). I'll leave out my opinions, at least for now, some I like more than others. 1. Neil Armstrong 2. Buzz Aldrin 3. Steve Jobs 4. Burt Rutan 5. Paul Allen 6. Charles Yeager 7. Admiral Gehman 8. James Cameron 9. Mike Griffin 10. James Lovell 11. Gene Kranz 12. James Oberg 13. Chris Kraft 14. Robert Zubrin 15. Dennis Jenkins 16. Jerry Linenger 17. George Abbey 18. Ken Illif 19. Murray and Cox 20. R. Sagdeev 21. Keith Cowing 22. Spaceship One Pilots 23. Sy Leibergot You left out Roger Boisjoly. By chance I assume. For some at NASA he is not much liked. But what he said before 2003 is now more important then ever. He his not to much mentioend here. For newbees: Roger Boisjoly, P.E. is a forensic engineer and lecturer. He was a technical troubleshooter on the Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Booster Program. As the principal engineer in the teleconference meeting with NASA managers prior to the launch of the Space Shuttle Challenger, he defended the original no launch decision. His testimony was vital to exposing the truth about the decision to launch Challenger. Mr. Boisjoly has appeared on all major national television networks, has been interviewed on the MacNeil/Lehrer News Hour, and has testified before the House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. He is a member of NSPE and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Sy Leibergot That's a pretty good list. I see by the inclusion of Steve Jobs that we're not restricted to aerospace. Are there any areas you would put off limits?
