Shuttle problems could be the excuse that the US. needed to pull out or play
a smaller part in the ISS. things have not lived upto expectations, and they
could easily find a better place for their investment. The Moon Mars all are
hungry for the limited cash available..
Anyone else have an opinion.

At the moment they are trying to come up with ways to fulfill their
commitments to the other ISS partners. They need international
cooperation for a Mars trip, and would like it for the moon, and ducking
out of their ISS obligations would further damage an already rocky
reputation.

Lets face it chaps, as with most technological advancements, the Americans
very rarely get it right! They have the money but the rest is mostly born of
other countries! The space pen is the biggest show of American arrogance
