![]() rebel wrote: There is supposed to be a debate on terraforming, all I hear is silence. Is it possible technically and morally to carry out a transformation of a planet moon etc. Double-A: Don't ask NASA. They can't even get their shuttle off the ground! rebel: Sagan put forward an idea on how it may be possible to terraform Venus, then he altered his opinion because of the amount of greenhouse gasses present, then he turned to Mars as an alternative and seemed to find no apparent obstacle to the terraforming of Mars. Double-A writes: How are you going to terraform Mars? It's atmosphere is already over 95% greenhouse gases, and it's cold! rebel: But is there a valid reasoning? behind the folks that disagree with any alteration to other bodies, on the principle of religion, possible micro type life existing, are these justified, and should they be ignored, there will always be the out and out nutter. Venus or the Moon is the closest so should in that respect prove easier if the obstacles can be removed overcome, technically I feel man can do it, we are natural explorers colonisers, what's a few bugs if they exist when it stops progress, and most life learns to adapt. Seeds can take a great deal of time to grow the seeds of conditioning should be tried out and deposited on every flight onto another planet or moon. |
