I''m posting because the word "syzygy" makes me smile. I look good with
a smile on my face. The best known syzygies are the eclipses of the Sun and the Moon I just thought that a lunar eclipse would be spectacular if a picture of it were taken on the Moon. A number of other terms cover other forms of syzygies, such as the word "occultation" that's when the eclipsing object appears much larger than the one covered. Then we have the word "transit" and that means the reverse. We saw great transit picture of Venus crossing the Sun. I know this post means little to you well educated college people, but to me not knowing what words stand for(their meaning) would put me at a great disadvantage. Bad enough i can't spell them, but I'm working on that. Bert |
