Default no good deed

Never did get to go last night, while the clouds moved on by and left the
sky clear until later on. But the winds never eased off at all, and they are
still blowing now in the morning, so unless there's a big change in the
weather today, it'll be another stay at home night.

I did try Jupiter last night and the view was bad, so it would not have been
a good night at the corner.

Oh, when I'm up at the corner and getting more people on good nights, I like
to ask some of them a question, I'll ask them which planet can they always
see? Most times they'll name every planet in the solar system ( and a few
that are not real ) but very few ever to think of the one they are standing
on! ;}

Similar WX north of San Francisco. No news there, although we have had
a few nights of good seeing in the last few weeks. I think there are
some nice double shadow transits of Jupiter coming up soon.
Tonight (Sunday) I will be deciding if I want to go 50mi N of here to
Lake Sonoma for some dark(er) sky viewing. If the seeing is awful, I'll
cancel. I can see distorted images just as well from my driveway. ;-)

Good Luck,
Uncle Bob

If I could fly one of the jets that are found out on Edwards to the east of
me, I could take off and buzz RTMC within about 2 mins of takeoff. ;} Maybe
a jumpjet and even land it there.
