I found this link today on BoingBoing.net. More way-cool rollout pics,
taken with a Nikon D2X. You really, really never see detail like this from PAO images. :-/ http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=13104458 -- Herb Schaltegger, GPG Key ID: BBF6FC1C "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin, 1759 http://www.individual-i.com/ |

Nice set of pictures. Why would the PAO remove this nice set of pictures? Where's the rest of the roll? Let's see some more pictures. -- Craig Fink Courtesy E-Mail Welcome @ |

Jeff From reading some of the messages on the thread, it appears as if they're using the 12.1 megapixel D2X as a "finder" of sorts for a pretty well-known project called something like the "Gigapixel Camera Project" and they were there with full credentials. I haven't been on DPReview in awhile but I think I ought to start spending some more time there. :-) Anyway, the pics are great. If you scroll down the thread, the original poster added a few more, plus posted a really good wallpaper image in a couple of different screen resolutions. -- Herb Schaltegger, GPG Key ID: BBF6FC1C "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin, 1759 http://www.individual-i.com/ |

They did. They still do. We love ours and shot about two dozen exposures tonight, albeit of nothing as exciting as a shuttle rollout. :-) But then I got to shoot it from inside the VAB ![]() Lucky *******! Yeah, I could buy the new high-end Martin guitar I just ordered and still have enough left over for the D70. :-) -- Herb Schaltegger, GPG Key ID: BBF6FC1C "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin, 1759 http://www.individual-i.com/ |

However, it's inevitable that I'll end up with something like that because I have a lot of Nikkor glass and I want a high-res digital back. I keep telling myself the price will come down, but the drop in the dollar sure didn't help. Mary -- Mary Shafer Retired aerospace research engineer or |

I had a prof who was a Martin player and in his exams he always had a "Buck's Trivia" question and in one he asked Where are Martin Guitars made. Not knowing Pa I answered "the Martin Guitar Factory". I was just going for the cheap laugh. |
