I have the Orion shorty plus barlow, a 25mm, 10mm, and Orion epic ED 2
5.1mm eyepieces. The scope is Orion skyview pro 8 EQ. I'm observing Jupiter in this exemple. If I use the 25mm eyepiece I have 40x magnification and Jupiter is nife-sharp.When I set in the barlow lens on, I have 80x, Jupiter become wery blur, unsharp. I renmove the barlow and I shange to 10mm (100x) eyepiece or 5.1mm (196x), Jupiter is whit both eyepieces wery sharp.I can see a black dot and I think it is the shadow from one of the moons. If I set in the barlow whit any of these eyepieces, Jupiter is unsharp. So it seems that this barlow is a waste of money. Any other expiriense? Tim |
