Signed up for their mailing list hoping for some good astronomy information and
all I get from then is spam telling me to upgrade.

Could not agree more, I've the MAC OS X version of Starry Night which is
good but the spam is too much and after a take over or merger they are
promoting programs that are only available on PC and not MAC. A good
supplier gone down the PC drain.
