Dear All,
I've just posted the new "Image of the Week" at the Bellatrix Observatory's website: http://www.bellatrixobservatory.org/picture.html It is a nice mosaic image by Rob Gendler and showing a wide field view on Orion, with plenty of nebular regions. We are looking forward to present your own astronomical images! Enjoy! Gianluca |

Anthony Ayiomamitis: Have you considered doing stand-up comedy? I ALWAYS enjoy reading your posts! Thanks for your kind remarks. My kind of comedy isn't for everyone; there is an active thread flaming me for posting a verbatim quote from America's pet monkey. One person even said I was "anti-American!" On the other hand, I get a lot of e-mail through my web site http://www.davidillig.com with kind remarks about my various opinions. It mostly comes from people who don't want to get flamed on Usenet. Good thing the flamers haven't seen my "Bin Laden for President" routine, in which I point out that his penchant for senseless violence makes him as American as apple pie -- and that he has killed fewer people than our pet monkey (though I concede that I don't know how many Russians Bin Laden killed back when Reagan gave him his start in international terrorism.) Yes, I have done a bit of stand-up, but only to carefully vetted audiences (as is the case with our pet monkey); people who hold things sacred -- things like God, country, motherhood, marriage, sex, liberals, conservatives, you-name-it -- are unlikely to be amused by my rants. I do hold the truth to be sacred, but I've been known to lampoon that, as well! By the way, I used to vacation in Greece fairly often when I was a world traveler. Love it! Love the people, love the food! Davoud |

NOTE: This is not for everyone, only one person. Astronomy. There I said the word which means I can now justifiably go off on any tangent. Besides, intelligent people will *want* to read this as it is relevant to science. America's pet donkey was Bill Clinton. The only reason America survived this Jackass is because it was strengthened by four years of President's Reagan and Bush Sr. The only reason we survive now is because of Bush Jr. Good thing people haven't seen my "Send Hillary to Iraq as a bomb" in which I point out it would be a dumb bomb, but if they followed her on anything, it would totally destroy them. Obviously anyone who thinks otherwise is a complete idiot who thinks liberal media created the universe, and refuses to think for themselves. In fact, Ronald Reagan should be immediately cleared for sainthood for standing up to these idiots. Actually, let's move him in as God's top executive, and put both President Bush Sr and Jr up for immediate sainthood. Bill Clinton killed people to distract the US populace from his perjury. He should be taken out back and shot, along with Hillary. These are not opinions, these are absolute facts. Anyone who thinks differently is obviously not thinking, but instead is merely repeating the mindless anti-American blather of left-wing conspiracy media tyrants that want to nuke gay unborn whales for Hillary. Gee Davoud, it's about as welcome as your blather. Just think if everyone signed off their posts like this. We'd have to change the name of the newsgroup maybe? It would rapidly reach the point where it wasn't worth the time to filter through all the crap to find an occasional on-topic post. Clear Skies Chuck Taylor Do you observe the moon? I joined to learn about Astronomy, not American politics, Theo/Politico/Philosophy, Economics or Psychiatry (A lot of nuts seems to live here) I notice though that for the most part, when a question on Astronomy is raised it is answered by certain ones who are interested in and know astronomy. When the other rubbish is broadcast the responders seem to be a different group. Maybe if I ignore this NG and send my queries direct to those who have proved willing to assist in Astronomy, I can by-pass the rubbish!! But that defeats the "stated" purpose of this NG Ah well!!!!! Hang in there Phil. SAA goes through cycles and so far has always recovered.
We may reach the point where we don't, like SA went down the tubes. But so far we recover. Keep posting questions and as you grow, start posting answers. That's the biggest thing that helps this group recover. Clear Skies Chuck Taylor Do you observe the moon?
