(Just kidding) Actually, the reason for the asymmetry was supposed to be to maximize the view of the pilot and observer on recon missions; and against all odds the plane flew fairly well by all accounts...but pilots laughed at it, and so the FW-189 won the competition. It's never a good idea to sit in front of a giant and propelled french fry cutter. However, the maple seed gyrocopter design is sleek. It would look good on the deck of Captain Nemo's Nautilus.
