Default Modern Moon

Does anyone know if this book is worth the price? Will it be a valuable
aide in observations? I can't any information or reviews. My wife just
ordered a Rukl for me and wanted to get this one but I wasn'r sure if it's
any good....seems expensive for the content of the description.

Anyone seen it?

It depends if your interested enough in learning some of the specific
details about the geology of the moon.

The writer, Chuck Wood is well known in the Lunar Science community and is a
regular contributor to S&T magazine.

In my opinion, it is not really intended to take it out to the scope, like
the Rukl Atlas.

I usually plan an observing session by reading about the area in Modern
Moon, use the Rukl during observing and then follow up my observing session
by going back to Modern Moon to review what I had planned on looking at, in
addition to reading up on any new features that I observed.

I use mine all the time, but then I'm more of a Solar System observer,
rarely looking at faint fuzzies.

Hope this helps,

Francis Marion

If you want to understand what it is you are observing and how it formed,
this is the book to buy. The Modern Moon is easily the best single volume to
buy if you want to understand the moon. You can also check the messages in
the lunar group link below to read what others have said about this book.
