The Spirit rover image
http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/galle...IP2552L2M1.JPG shows rocks that are riddled with holes, many of which appear to be occupied (!) by features that are too small to see clearly. Perhaps they are similar to the wormlike features seen in the "popcorn" pebbles by Opportunity, for example, as seen he http://morris.best.vwh.net/ftp/six.jpg Paul -- Email: lastname at best dot com.
