Default Observatory Construction Progress

Hurrah! Hurrah! After a one month delay for travel and other
make-believe work, I'm back on the job and the dome is on!

Nice work, Davoud, it's really starting to look like an observatory now!
I certainly hope to follow in your footsteps some day - I type this with
half-frozen fingers from a rather chilly evening's observing!

Thanks for the "heads-up". I didn't know Tyvek made observatories. ;-)

Only kidding. Congratulations on the topping out! Very nice job.
Gorgeous setting too. Enjoy your own Palomar dome at home. Don't you
think it looks just like the 200" dome? :-)

Regards

Indeed! I've got to decide _very_ soon what kind of siding to put on
it; it has to match my house, which is cream-colored vinyl.

Only kidding. Congratulations on the topping out! Very nice job.

Thank you. Yes, but my Meade and my Questar are both just a bit smaller
than the Palomar instrument. And from the road, with the shutter facing
the other way, it looks like a short silo.

Looks very, very nice. Seems kinda close to the house though. Aren't you
worried about warm air currents rising off the house and ruining the seeing?

Like everyone else, I'm jealous! :-)

Congrats,

No, because I won't be looking over the house; the observatory can see
north, east, and south; the house is due west of the obs. I'm counting
on the afternoon shadow of the house to help cool the obs. and the
asphalt apron in front of my garage, due south of the obs., on summer
afternoons. I won't know until next summer if I need a small air
conditioner.

Like everyone else, I'm jealous! :-)

Not of an observatory in cloudy Maryland!

Congrats,

Thank you!

Like everyone else, I'm jealous! You won't be seeing pics like those
from my observatory!
