Dear All,
here it comes a new one from the latest Star Party I attended on the Italian Alps last September. This is a single exposure with my 200mm telephoto lens at full aperture f/4 with a diffuser filtre. Film was Kodak E200. It shows the Hyades and the open cluster NGC1647. http://astrofoto.laza.it/en/technica...n/Iadi_en.html I welcome comments and criticisms as usual The home page is at http://astrofoto.laza.it Best regards, Nicola |

Very nice. I never noticed NGC 1647 before. Yes, NGC 1647 is one of those objects that suffers from proximity to a much bigger and brighter one. Actually, it's one of the very nicest open clusters in the sky. And while you're in the vicinity, don't miss NGC 1746 (aka 1750 + 1758) and the lovely pair NGC 1807 and NGC 1817 -- the lesser Double Cluster. All four (plus, of course, the Hyades and the Pleiades) show beautfully in binoculars and tiny telescopes. - Tony Flanders |
