Hi,
I have a 6" dobson and would like to buy a better mirror for it. FL must be less then 100cm, so it can fit into my car. Any idea where I can find one? I already tried surplusshed.com and some local dealers. Google didn't help much. I live in Croatia (central Europe). Ante |

Dennis A few years ago, Sky & Telescope had an article about "mirror pulling". The idea was to take a spherical mirror, with a good figure, and pull the central portion to deform it into a parabola with nearly as good a figure. If the existing mirror has a smooth curve and doesn't have severe zonal irregularities, one might be able to mechanically deform it into a near paraboloid.
