The Space Environment (1969) shows equation how many & size micro
meteorite to expect. With the log equation you can calculate from dust removing metal to when you might look like a bug on the windshield of an asteroid. They set no limits on sizes of either ship or asteroid so if your wondering you could put in the size of the earth as ship and a rocks of various sizes. At about 100 years time the rocks start getting big. Russian 1908 Scientific American article called the "Summer That Was Not 1807"; North America had condictions as would be expected at like the start of an Ice Age. With only having writen records of most of the world for the last 400 years; there is also the fact that 3/4 of the covered in water. It is possible the "Summer That Was Not 1807" was caused by a meteor crash north of Hudson Bay which only really effected the area south of it. This is really one area we have to consider that we are definitely not alone in our part of the universe. Bob L. Further interesting fact was on dividing the globe into areas. Those
two are occurrences that happened where in different quarters of a divided globe. The equation covers the whole surface but does not say where. If the next asteroid or meteor is to do what would fulfill the partern to make what happens follow the odds; it should strike in the southern hemisphere. That is if the occurrence that was in 1807 The summer that was not, was in fact a meteor or asteroid. Like I said I do not think you will need the super basement Bob L.
