Default Coolpix 5400?

Just wondered if anyone using the group have used the Nikon Coolpix 5400 or
5700(?) for Astrophotography (lunar, planetary, star field and DSO) and if
so, how does it rate and what extra "bits" do you need. I have a new arrival
on the way so my wife actually *wants* a digital camera now and will finally
let me spend some cash. ;o)

Cheers,
Jim
