Default The Sun is getting dimmer

Alarming story in the Indie on Sunday (taken from a paper in Science)
says the Sun has dimmed by about 10 percent in 50 years.

Nobody knows why. Soot in the atmosphere? Trouble on the Sun: beta
particles want equality with alphas? Hydrogen wants to be given equal
weight with Helium?

Just hope it lasts to the afternoon of June 8th.

Couldn't find it on their online version -- is it something to do with
this:

A longer article from the Guardian last December related to measurements of
evaporation rates and also of heating of blackened metal plates

The Independent's article refers to an article in 'Science' which is
outlined here

That's a bit naughty of them! It makes the rest of their reporting a little
suspect.

Oh for goodness sake Marty, keep up!

Discussed at length on uk.sci.weather a fortnight or so ago.
See thread 'Sunshine study finds world's darkened since '50s'
