Atrocious conditions down in Selsey last night - mist/fog (the perfect
comet filter) + a distant thunderstorm illuminating the sky every few
minutes.

Not a lot of success with NEAT but I decided to try and start a new
branch of comet photography nonetheless

Branch - get it! Sorry - I'll try and turn over a new leaf.

It's exactly this kind of post that must be rooted out, axed and
nipped in the bud before it either bears fruit or the canker spreads
and Lawrence's Selsey sap rises. I won't say it twice: my bark is far,
far worse than my bytes.

On Topic Would such photos be taken when film and developing cost
time and money? Digital photography has a lot to answer for. There,
better now./On topic

I think the pressure's getting to Pete, he's taking pictures of trees
now. I won't mention barking.

BTW, the forecast looks good for tonight, quite possibly nice clear
skies here on the south coast.

Cheers

I hope so Mike. As for the trees, as Summer approaches, the sides of
my garden suddenly ascend towards the zenith. It's like observing
from down a deep, foliated tube.

Now Mike, what do you think you are doing?

Trying to mess it up for us all eh?
You must allways follow the UKAGBW!

United Kingdom Astronomers Guide to Baffling the Weather:

1) Never mention the weather accept in bad, rotten foul language!
2) Allway think that its going to be really cloudy.
3) Never put your scope out more than an hour before a viewing session(will
entice clouds from the equator).
4) Never try to build huge animated gifs from sat.dundee IR images!
5) Never, EVER even think about how clear it will be tonight, you will only
be let down by some one buying a new scope.

Example:

Tonight i is mostly going to be getting drunk and i will not be using my
telescope or
even think about cloud cover or M objects.

If we where all to follow these few rules our skies would be a safer place
to observe!

He He.

And just for those who remeber.
Im loving it not having a woman in the house, aaahhhhhhhh, pure blisss!

Rob

Sorry Rob - it was a moment of madness...

Example:
Tonight i is mostly going to be getting drunk and i will not be using my
telescope or
even think about cloud cover or M objects.

Trouble is, when I do that, I do end up 'a shade merry' and then can't
find the 'scope, never mind set it up.

And just for those who remeber.
Im loving it not having a woman in the house, aaahhhhhhhh, pure blisss!

Wouldn't be without one myself (just in case anyone got the wrong idea
from my quote above).
Clear skies
oops, sorry

Blimey, now I'm starting to sound like the computer aboard the heart
of gold spaceship in the HHGTTG.

It certainly was - the fog gave way to milky high clouds that almost
cleared. Then the skies became misty again and then the mist became
cloud. Oh joy!
